Who We Are

Quincy Community Theatre (QCT) has been delighting audiences with musicals, mysteries, comedies, and dramas since 1923. Originally named the Quincy Community “Little” Theatre, we became Quincy Community Theatre in the spring of 1995 after the completion of its new facility at 300 Civic Center Plaza. The 498-seat theatre was dedicated on September 8, 1995.

Current offerings include four adult productions, four student theatre productions (including one touring show) and three semesters of educational offerings for students age 3 through adult.

We are a volunteer based organization, welcoming participants from all walks of life, coming together as a community to fulfill our mission statement listed below:

To offer and perpetuate quality theatre entertainment and education through community participation.

What We Do

Our technical goals are to construct a quality set that fulfills the artistic vision of the scenic designer and the director for each show as well as supporting the production's artistic vision through the technical elements of sound, lights, props and run crew.

Volunteers will help build, paint, or assist in the construction of the set.   They will also gather and build props, run the light board, manage microphones, run the sound board, and work backstage during the show.  Those backstage positions include:  fly line, deck crew, spot light op and stage management.

No matter your skill level, we have a place for you.  We are happy to educate volunteers in all technical areas from how to use a drill to running a spotlight to new painting techniques.

As a technical volunteer, you help create and support the "quality" of our shows while learning about this important facet of theatre.
